IMPORTANT: new ministerial resolutions 2019

Machu Picchu can no longer be visited either in the morning (Group 1 from 6am to 12pm) or in the afternoon (Group 2 from 12pm to 5.30pm). In order to relieve the site, the Government has decided to divide the days into 3 groups of 3 tours each. We will simplify by saying that from January 1, 2019 the visit to Machu Picchu will be according to 9 different entry schedules that must be chosen at the time of booking. These entry schedules are from 6am to 3pm per 1 hour period, which means that the visitor will have to choose in which schedule to entry to Machu Picchu, i.e. pass the entrance gate. For example, the 7am schedule to enter between 7am and 8am, or the 12am schedule to enter between 12pm and 1pm. The visit will be for 4 hours. We are aware of the complications and confusion that this will create, but like you, we are subject to ministerial decisions.

Again, to simplify, our agency has chosen to use its own name for each of the schedules and not those of the Ministry of Culture. We have therefore chosen to call each of these entry schedules: Machu H6 (6am entry schedule), Machu H7, Machu H8, ..., Machu H14 (2pm entry schedule).

Can a person purchase 2 tickets for Machu Pichua in one day? A morning one to climb Hanya Pichua and an afternoon one to be guided through Machu Picchu?

Hello Janet,

In theory, you can and must purchase 2 tickets in order to visit Machu Picchu the whole day, whatever if you want to visit another site like Wayna Picchu or Machu Mountain. So, in theory you need to buy a ticket for Machu Picchu G1 (morning) and Machu Picchu G2 (afternoon).

But it's a theory. In fact, the agents in the Citadel allow people to stay few hours more that the allowed. So your ticket for the morning allows you to stay in Machu Picchu few hours more than the limit of 12am. But if you want to stay until 4pm or 5pm, the most secure is to buy 2 tickets for G1+G2.

This is for both 2018 and 2019 tickets. But remember that tickets, services, spaces and hours have changed for 2019. 2018 has "only" 7 types of tickets, 2019 has 15!

We just updated half-hour ago the page: https://ticket-machupicchu.com/ticket/limitations.php in order to show all these tickets.

Best regards.

Thank you for your response. We have not been able to reserve and purchase tickets on your website for 30 April 2019. We have reserved tickets through the https://www.machupicchu.gob.pe/ but can't pay for them. Can you please help us/explain how to reserve and purchase 3 tickets for Machu Picchu and MP Montana for 30 April 2019? Ever so grateful for your help.

Hello again Janet,

Right now, it's impossible to pay in the official website. Yesterday they changed their website and since then there is a lot of problems, including the payment. So, you CAN'T buy any ticket from the official website now.

Our website is ok and there is no reason or error to stops for purchase for April. We already received a lot of purchases for April. So please let us know if you have any error or why exactly you can't purchase from our website. If you have any problem during the purchase, please contact us through our chat (the green dialog icon at the bottom-right) in order to assist you in real-time.

Regards.

Hi again Janet,

I'm pretty sure that the problem is that you chose 2018 in the 1st page of our form.

Please be sure to select 2019 in the Step 1 https://www.ticket-machupicchu.com/purchase/form1.php. The selected year appears in WHITE.

Please try and let us know if it's ok.

Regards,
